A day trip to Whitstable

And Then She – Whitstable

Last weekend I visited Whitstable for a day trip with some friends. It’s a small seaside town about a one hour drive away, and perfect for a day away from the city. I love being by the coast. I find it so calming (as I’m sure a lot of people do), making it my favourite type of place to be!

On arrival we spent some time walking along the pebbled beach, where there was all sorts of rickety beach huts and restaurants lining the seafront. Being a town famous for growing their own oysters, there were also plenty of discarded shells all neatly piled outside, waiting to be put back onto the seabed. We also popped into The Whitstable Oyster Company for a delicious seafood lunch, ending on what must have being the biggest slice of cheesecake I’ve ever had.

I only had a small glimpse at what this place has to offer, but I’d definitely go back to explore a bit more.
